Rev. David Collyer

Pastor David grew up in Albany, Georgia, where his family attended a small Baptist church. It was there that he first began his walk of faith and discovered a lasting love for God and the church.

He studied at Darton College, where he met his wife, Susan Brooks. He later continued his education at the University of Georgia and at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. During his final year of seminary, David and Susan were married after Susan returned from teaching English for two years at a middle school in Hong Kong.

David first came to Crozet Baptist Church as a youth ministry intern. After two years, he was invited to serve in a full-time role and has continued to minister at Crozet ever since. Over the years, he has served as Minister to Youth and Senior Adults, Minister of Worship, Associate Pastor, Co-Pastor, and now Pastor.

As Pastor of Crozet Baptist Church, David’s heart is to help people become passionate followers of Jesus Christ. He is committed to worship that draws people closer to God, relationships that help people grow in faith, and service that shares Christ’s love with the wider community. He hopes to help create a church where others can encounter God in meaningful and life-giving ways.
